Intercrew + Duckbill

Project Type - Hospitality

Interior Designer - Seeds and Growth

Completed - Winter 2019

Scope:

  • Tower Chandelier

  • Buoyancy Necklace

  • Linear Sconces

Project Overview

For Intercrew and its adjoining speakeasy, Duckbill, Neptune Glassworks developed a group of custom lighting fixtures designed to work within the character of a historic Koreatown building. The existing Art Deco plasterwork became an important part of the design process, requiring each fixture to be carefully scaled and positioned around the architecture rather than imposed upon it.

The centerpiece is a monumental Tower Chandelier measuring approximately eight feet in diameter. Its scale gives the main dining room a strong sculptural focal point while remaining integrated with the original ceiling details. A polished-nickel Buoyancy Necklace and a series of Linear Sconces extend the lighting vocabulary into the adjoining spaces, creating a layered atmosphere that moves from the restaurant into the more intimate speakeasy.
